Community Schools

We work alongside local nonprofit community organizations to provide personalized curriculum emphasizing real-world learning and community problem-solving through hands-on workshops and capacity building programs.


Community schools take place within partner specified work areas, including schools, churches and other community buildings. Its integrated focus includes academics, health and social services, youth and community development and community engagement leads to improved student learning, stronger families and healthier communities.


By doing so, we intend to begin developing a community of experience, expertise, skill and resource in the fifteen (15) major market segments as defined by the California Department of education for career and technical learning:



The People's Assembly facilitates an organized series of community programs, classrooms, workshop and discussions geared towards local capacity building and development. These community schools work to improve local proficiency of the community and are administered through a cooperative network of local professionals.


Each cooperative member are asked to donate their time, resources, experience and/or expertise in building local technical, professional, and other educational and entrepreneurial programming



Local Programming


Here’s how to do it:

Child Development Programming | AGES infant – 7

Before and aftercare child development programming geared towards developing the complete child.


YOUTH | AGES 8 – 12 Child Researcher

Program focuses on basic learning disciplines, providing real life experience through hands on projects. Students are also given the opportunity to participate in industry related field trips, expert led activities, culturally enriching events, as well as recreational group retreats.


TEENAGERS |AGES 13 - 17 Youth Developer

Program focuses on intermediate learning disciplines, providing real life experience through hands on projects. Students are also given the opportunity to participate in industry related field trips, expert led activities, culturally enriching events, as well as recreational group retreats.


YOUNG ADULTS |AGES 18 - 24 Youth Enterprise

Program focuses on advanced learning disciplines, providing real life experience through hands on projects. Students are also given the opportunity to participate in industry related field trips, expert led activities, culturally enriching events, as well as recreational group retreats.


ADULTS |AGES 25+ Community Partners

Community partners work to establish cooperative partnerships to sustain local community development. Students design cooperative projects to hone basic understanding of advanced disciplines in specified area of study. Program projects incorporated into cooperative enterprise to support community development.


This process helps community continuity by connecting the local community to the resources required for ongoing cooperative community building. In doing so, the Assembly looks to create a community of educators, entrepreneurs and community stewards working together to develop local community capacity to address the future needs of its members.
